There are two words which presently describe the utter futility that is Maryland Football: RANDY EDSALL. The hiring and performance of this coach are UNACCEPTABLE to a large portion of the Maryland fan-base and UNFAIR to the excellent athletes who make up this team. To that end, we dedicate this site to one goal - to BUY OUT the remainder of Randy Edsall's contract at Maryland and hire a more appropriate candidate for Head Football Coach.
BUY OUT RANDY EDSALL
MISSION STATEMENT:
College Football is an expensive undertaking for any institution of higher learning. In this era of shrinking funds available for all sports, it is necessary, if not imperative to assure the ticket-buying fan-base that the Head Coach of the football team will be able to produce immediate, winning results. (Football being the main revenue generating sport of the institution, losing the interest of the Football Fan-base is unacceptable.)
The lateral hiring of Randy Edsall with the goal to achieve more wins, generating more fans’ interest & ticket sales was an error as shown by the results of his first season.
The MISSION of this non-profit organization will be to collect enough funds to buy out the remainder of Randy Edsall’s contract, freeing the University of Maryland of their contractual obligation to this coach and allowing them to hire a more suitable candidate for achieving their stated goals: a coach with a PROVEN RECORD of WINS at a high level of Competition in previous employment as a head coach, either at a Major College or in Professional Football and a reputation for WINNING FOOTBALL GAMES against all levels of competition.
This non-profit will remain existent so long as Randy Edsall is still under contract with the University of Maryland and all donations are gratefully accepted. Further, it is understood that the actual money figure necessary may not be attained even after some years of collecting donations. In the case where Mr. Edsall’s contract has run its course over time and we do not achieve the goal of having enough funds to allow the university to buy out said contract, all collected moneys remaining (after any TAXES, Reach-out Expenditures, such as Advertising, WEB site expansion, etc), will be turned over to the Terrapin Club primarily, with a portion (20%) given to the MGN (Maryland Gridiron Network)
